About
Hey folks, my name is Mike, and i’m a web developer. Freelance Diary is my outlet to discuss the various in’s and out’s of my journey into the world of a freelancer, and through it I hope some of the experiences I share can help or reassure others going through the same process as I am.

Hi Mike.
I have just come across your blog, very informative. Its good to see a fellow freelancer in the north east (I currently live in Sunderland) doing well. I am currently in the very early stages of going freelance myself and have been wondering how to go about getting work in. I didnt know about the BNI, its sounds like a great source of work. Where do they meet in the North east? I am open to collaberative projects if you ever need a designer / flash developer (take a look at my portfolio for samples).
I found your comment on designing and redsigning and then redesigning your own website, spot on. I am currently in the process of changing my own site to be more oriented towards getting work in from businesses as apposed to simply a showcase of work.
Barry.

Hey Barry, thanks for your feedback on the site. Seems we have a nice little North East thing going on here - a guy who commented on another post is from Hexham.
BNI meet all over the North East; I beleive there are a couple of chapters in Sunderland, and we do have some guys from that area who come to my chapter too. Check out http://www.bni-europe.com and I’m sure you’ll be able to find somewhere convenient for you.
I will certainly keep you in mind for any flash work, as this is an area I don’t really cover, so I’ll be sure to drop you a line if anything comes along.
Thanks again for visiting - its good to know there are at least some people reading this!!
